Looking up Josh's page on Wikipedia, I was struck by the following:

His father is of half Irish (Dingle peninsula) and half German ancestry, and his mother is of Swedish and Norwegian descent.

My first reaction on reading that?

Holy shit, this guy is really, really WHITE.

I mean, I thought Cumberbatch was white, but Josh is a fucking cornucopia of eggshell. Damn.


Now, this is not a complaint, mind you. I've always had a terrible weakness for pretty gringos. I'll let the Black Girls from Hair explain the appeal:

LOL at those lyrics. The Scandi ancestry makes sense given his cheekbones. I've always been curious what his parents look like. He seems to be genetically engineered to be beautiful.

You're right, his ancestry is about as white as it comes. Wonder where he got those dark eyes. You'd think he'd have blue or green eyes with Norwegian and Swedish ancestry. Not that I dont' love the dark eyes. They're beautiful.

That Saxo-Celt-Viking vibe sure makes pretty boys. But the darkness of his hair and eyes always makes me think there must be some hot Latin blood in there.

I'd always thought there must be some tinge of Native American, those cheekbones, y'know. He never gave me the impression of Latin blood, though - the shape of his features just doesn't hold any of that to my eye. Dark hair and eyes are a strain in Irish blood, so maybe he got it through his Celt heritage.
