Yeah, okay

.
Trevor Noah really was funny last night. He's got a sharp sense of humor, puckish, I'd say. He definitely hasn't turned me off, so I'm going to continue giving him a chance.

And he's cheerful. I'm sure it's because he's new to the game, but he seems really up for the nonsense. Jon was really squeezed out at the end - who can blame him? - so Trevor is a big contrast. I'm interested and curious to see where he will go with this.

Also, VERY happy with the new Colbert show. Oh, he is having such a good time. It's lovely to see. And gratifying that he's not lost his punch. His guests are varied and interesting, he's a GREAT interviewer, able to draw out anyone. (Except Trump. He still managed to sound like a jackass.) (Not that that wasn't fun.) And he's brought along some of his TDS/TCR schtick, last night instituting a new segment reminiscent of the dearly departed "This Week In God" from TDS, a segment I always looked forward to, as I'm delighted by really well-educated comic commentary on the doings of religion. Stephen is excellent at that.

Plus, watching him dance at the beginning of every show is utterly wonderful. He can make me smile no matter how bad a day I've been having. *sigh*

I've been impressed with Trevor Noah, too, and will continue to watch TDS for at least the time being. Still enjoying Stephen as well. I wish them both lots of luck with their new shows.

Plus we have the wonderful Jon Oliver, Larry Wilmore has turned out to be pretty good, and whatever incarnation Jon Stewart will return as. I was sad before at all the endings, but what's replaced them is pretty great, so all's okay!

I don't get premium cable stations, so I haven't been able to watch Jon Oliver since he left TDS. :(

Oh, neither do I. I have no television at all. I download all the stuff I watch. :)

But you can watch John. His show gets posted in clips to the official Youtube channel. Go here to see them:

Have fun!

I haven't had a chance to watch Trevor yet, but I'm looking forward to it. I think Stephen was really nervous the first few shows, but boy, is he hitting his stride! He's terrific. Do you watch John Oliver's show? I love that, too.

ETA: just read your reply to Addie, and I see you are a fellow John Oliver fan. :-)

Oh yes, have been since he first showed up on TDS. He's amazing, I adore him. His wit is just so fucking sharp and dry, it's like a paper cut. Fabulous. (He's gotta be LOVING all the shit that's going on with FIFA. He deserves a pat on the back for that one, for sure.)
