Am currently watching Elijah's fabulously ridiculous zombie apocalypse film, Cooties.

AHAHAHAAAA. This thing is every shade of fucked up. Elijah must have had a ball doing it. I really love the inside jokes about his films. The LOTR reference was right out there on the nose, but the Faculty references are a bit more subtle.

Me? No! I don't do brave things!

I fell out at that one. And the stalking through the halls sequence - I'm sure Zeke would've been very happy to have that golf-ball launcher. It's just too fucking funny.

Gotta love movies written by fanbois.




Okay, so I finished watching it. AHAHA. Oh, gods.

For a moment, I was really annoyed at the ending, but then I remembered the original ending for The Faculty, and it clicked, and the ending was perfect.

It's so great to be a fan.

It is a hoot beyond hootness. Keep in mind it's a zombie film, though. It gets icky. REALLY icky. I was scream-laughing at one point, it got so gross.

I'm sure Elijah must have thought about The Faculty while making Cooties. It could almost be grown up Casey coming back to Herrington as a sub, only the love interest would have to be Zeke. :-)

Yep. At first, I was like WTF ENDING PLEASE. And then OH WAIT. It's actually perfect.

There are a number of Faculty nods in the film, so half the fun is unpacking all the geeky references. HAHA LOVED IT.

Also: heehee, I wonder if anyone's written any RPF around what you said about Elijah's memories of making The Faculty. Or a fic about it being Casey, who changed his name because of all the notoriety around the alien invasion.
