Here's my entry for this year's Trick or Treat Challenge. A comment on fffc by prisca1960 sparked the resurgence of an idea I had months ago. Here's the result...

Zeke doesn't look at the photograph very often, but sometimes he does. He sits on the floor in the corner of the living room, by the low shelf that holds family relics, and pulls it out of the photo album where it stays tucked away between wedding portraits. He doesn't know who first left it there, but its outlines have sunk into the smiling blandness of grandparents in white lace and tuxedo black, the ancient paper thick and hardened by time, ( age seeping onto the adjacent pictures in soft smudges of brown... )

When I went to DuckDuckGo to find the right pic of Elijah for my Thanksgiving post yesterday, I came across this:





and stopped dead in my tracks. I've never seen this pic before. Isn't it lovely?

Give me one of my own stories, and a timestamp sometime in the future after the end of the story, or sometime in the past before the story started, and I'll write you at least a hundred words of what happened then, whether it's five minutes before the story started or ten years in the future.

Gacked from danachan.

Am feeling very depressed and flailing in a futile manner. I signed up for the latest hobbit_smut challenge, and I can't come up with a single thing. Have had a couple of ideas, and none of them are sparking me to write anything. I'm not getting anywhere and am feeling pretty dismal about it. I should have known better than to commit to something like this - it never works for me. Damnit!

Somebody throw me a porn plot bunny, please? As a last-ditch effort, perhaps it would get me going.

Well, this is an interesting little exercise. Been seeing it around, (gacked it from danachan) and am letting a couple of lines cook in the ol' oven.

In case you haven't heard, the way it works is you pick one of my lines and use it as a first line in a drabble of your own. Because some of my first lines are quite long, and set too much of the story, I've cheated just a little and shortened them. If that's not ok, feel free to slap my wrist!
