I think that's been the only moment when I actually felt sorry for Jack. It's kind of a wonder he didn't blow his brains out right there.

Lost is getting interesting again.

The inserts are confusing and intriguing at the same time. Are they flashbacks, flash-forwards, or alternate time-slips? Seems to be some of each.

And my ST-lovin' soul is happy with the time travel stuff. Yay for the return of the polar bears! I still regret the loss of Medicine Man Locke, but the thing with his kidney was great. It's that kind of puzzle-piece intricacy that hooked me in the first place.

I think it was really all that crap with the Others that made me lose interest for a while. A whole year of dicking around with Benry and his little King Turd of Shit Mountain setup - boring! Now we're back to the fun stuff - jungle, guns, jumping at shadows, weird techno geekery, strange magic and what-the-fuckery. Wheee!!

Now that the mystery of Desmond's identity has been revealed - it certainly puts an interesting and unexpected spin on things! - I look forward to tonight's hijinks with delight.

Just as I suspected, Locke is turning out to be the most interesting character on this thing. It wasn't until that episode when he gave Boone his vision that I realized the position Locke occupies in this little society. He's the priest, the shaman. Quite archetypal. A wounded man who has visions, sees what no one else does, has a special connection to the land and the spirits that dwell there. Very interesting. I bet he elects to stay on the island, maybe with Walt, who looks like a little shaman-in-training to me.

Looking forward to where this is headed.
