That naughty little hobbit...
Saturday, December 11th, 2004 12:53 amLate for Froday, but anyway, here's a lovely portrait:

DRABBLE: Under the Deepening Shadows
Thursday, December 9th, 2004 09:04 pm.
Under the Deepening Shadows
by Serai
Alone in the dusk, Frodo leaned against an alder and lit his pipe. The lights from the Party Tree cast a gay tremulous glow, making flickering jewels of the dancing hobbits' shadows. Puffing thoughtfully, Frodo savored the taste of Old Toby, yet another flavor discovered anew after his rebirth into life. Reborn for a little while, to fulfill the last of his destiny - saving the Shire. Looking on Sam's joyous face, Pippin's flirting, Rosie's ringing laugh, Frodo knew he'd succeeded. He sighed. Now he could finally rest. A quiet footstep made him turn.
"Well done, cousin," Merry said, smiling.

One Left Over - Birthday Candles Are Hot Challenge
Wednesday, September 22nd, 2004 06:54 pmOK, stupid me! I posted my challenge fic here by mistake, when I meant to post it at
hobbit_smut. So I've edited this post, and it's now a link to the story over there.
One Left Over
Sorry about that. Darned new-fangled posting screen had me all confuzzled...

Hey, I finally wrote something!
Tuesday, September 21st, 2004 03:44 amMuch to my surprise, my Muse really was serious when he started to nudge me this week. You can see the results here:
The Taste of Salt - Hold Me, Heal Me Challenge at
hobbit_smut
Be warned - this fic is quite angsty. ("Oh, what a surprise", I hear you mutter as you roll your eyes. Shut up. ;P)
I'll be posting this here when the community rules allow. I think that's a week from now, but I'll have to check. And now I'm off to sleep, as it's 3:30 in the morning, and I gotta go to work in 3 hours.
Enjoy!
A big kiss to my Muse. I love you, Baby.

Wallpaper: Sonnet for Frodo
Friday, May 14th, 2004 01:27 pm![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
This got me thinking about the whole concept, and I remembered Shakespeare's Sonnet LV. Back when I was taking class in the Bard with Dan Chace (an excellent Shakespeare teacher) at Stella Adler, I chose this sonnet to prepare and recite. At the time, I put a twist on it that he really liked, in that I spoke it as a prayer to the Goddess. That fascinated him because he knew nothing about the Lady, and he's the kind of actor who prefers his hamburgers made from sacred cow. The experience was one of several that convinced me Shakespeare is best when you take him in a completely different direction.
So anyway. I realized that lovely Sonnet fits the pic I mentioned beautifully, so I made wallpaper combining them. Here it is for your viewing pleasure and (I hope) usage.
It's an 800x600, because that's as far as I could blow the pic up and still have a pleasant image. If anybody has a high-res version of this pic (the whole pic - I've seen the high-res vertical slice, but that won't work for this), I'd sure love it if you could get it to me. Then I could make a much better version of this.
But I still like the way it came out. :)
Enjoy!
In spring, the fancy turns to Faire...
Friday, May 7th, 2004 11:31 amSo, this evening Spike and I are off to the Santa Barbara Renaissance Faire. Damn! I haven't worked a faire in fifteen years. It'll be fun, I'm sure. We'll be working at a booth owned by a friend of mine. Not sure what it is he sells - crystals, I think. (Yes, people do still sell crystals!)
So, I've been digging out costume pieces this week, and managed to whip up a combo that Spike could wear. Tying her into one of my bodices was an amusing experience, seeing as how she's about a head taller than me and had never worn one o' them things before. I assured her that yes, she would be able to breathe in it once she got the hang of it. Heehee! Put me in mind of my first bodice experience. If the thing's made right, it really does feel like you've no lungs left. But ah, they are wonderful for keeping you on your feet through a long day of running around in the heat. Come the end of the day, I unlace and my back just collapses - that's when you come to appreciate just how useful they are.
So, I'm gonna go sit in front of my TV this afternoon and sew a couple of snoods for us, so our heads will be modestly covered. Will watch LOTR to get me in the right mood. If anybody wants to chat, I'm keeping my pooter open.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend! I know I will. *grin*
( And since it's Froday, some PICSPAM for y'all! )

Elijah picture giveaway!!
Wednesday, April 7th, 2004 11:39 amHEY YOU GUUUUYYYYYYSSS!!!
I'm in the process of changing my photo hosting over to Photobucket (nice photobucket, *pets*), which is a Good Thing. But they got limits on size, boohoo! So the few monster big beautiful Elijah pics I've got on inkfrog at the moment are gonna get resized, darn it.
However, I'm posting them here for all of you to grab! Can't guarantee how long they'll be up - a day or two at most. These are all pics that I scanned and worked on myself, and I can't bear to let 'em disappear without one last hoorah... *sniff*
So get your greedy little mitts on 'em NOW! Send your friends over! Get 'em while they're hot!
You won't be disappointed. Really.
Whew! Them's a LOT of pics. And BIG!! But I think you'll agree they're quite worth it.
Remember - they'll only be here a day or two. So get the word out!
Birthday present for one and all!
Monday, March 22nd, 2004 07:30 pm.
( Day after day, he sat at the window... )
Just a drabble. I wanted to write something more, but the Muse was out partying, it seems.
Plus, I saw Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind today, and that kinda blew out all my mental circuits. So I'm afraid I'm not very creative right now.
*sigh* Maybe I'll manage some kind of review of the movie in a day or two.

A little picspam!
Wednesday, February 4th, 2004 02:27 amFound these while I was clipping from the big pile of trade rags in my house. Pics from the Golden Globe fete, the Santa Barbara fest, and some thingie Sean was at.
Enjoy!
( Elijah, Dom, Sean, Uncle Pete, assorted glitterati, and some Python dude... )
Enjoy!
Oh my. I'm officially an Influence!

Hidden Wounds
Now, a warning: the above story is a darkfic, containing Non-con, some SM elements, and tons of angst. Not at all for the faint of heart.
But it's sad, deep and beautifully written, so I recommend it for those as can take it. If you're one of those, please go - read and respond! :)
I really thought this would never happen. How cool to be an inspiration!
(no subject)
Sunday, January 25th, 2004 01:32 amOver at SomethingAwful.com, they've a great thread going on LOTR and vehicles. Some of the stuff there is a hoot!
I had a yen to join in, but it seems they wanna charge me $9.95 to join the forums, and I ain't got any spare cash. So I thought I'd post my contribution here. At least y'all will get a giggle.

If anyone can suggest a clever caption, please do so. My brain is stuck in "Let me sleep, goddamnit" gear, and I can't seem to shift it.
P.S. I'm very interested to see which one of you will recognize that bod. ;)

New fic: Twilight

In His Dream - a Frodo Dyad (Ficlet)
Monday, November 24th, 2003 12:13 pmMy Muse is back, it seems. The first half of this happened a couple of weeks ago, and He came back last night and gave me the second half. I'm not really sure what I think about this piece, other than that the feeling it gave me while writing was intense yet vague, erotic yet graceful, and very mysterious. Dreams can be like that.
I might still mess with it a little. What do you think?
Title: In His Dream
Rating: NC-17

Just wanted to show off my newest icon!
I couldn't resist that sad, sweet pic of Frodo and Sam catching a breather in Mordor. However, they're not nearly close enough, so I got them to cuddle. sigh.
The lyric is from the song Nevertheless:
Maybe I’m right, and maybe I’m wrong
Maybe I’m weak and maybe I’m strong
But nevertheless I’m in love with you
Maybe I’ll win and maybe I’ll lose
Maybe I’m in for crying the blues
But nevertheless I’m in love with you
Somehow I know at a glance
The terrible chances I’m taking
Fine at the start
Then left with a heart that is breaking
Maybe I’ll live a life of regret,
And maybe I’ll give much more than I’ll get
But nevertheless, I’m in love with you...
