At one of the Youtube videos from the PD Comic Con appearance, I posted this comment in response to someone who said they preferred not seeing the Ethan/Dorian scene continue because SEX EWW and it's-better-implied, yada yada, and then said the Ethan/Brona scene was EWW, and yeah - am I supposed to just listen to that?
( Ah, your perspective on sex scenes is rather different from mine... )
It's rather off-the-cuff and may contain some inaccuracies about exact things that happened on the show, but it's how I see it, basically. Because bitch, you do not throw down on my boy. Ever.

Unexpected shadow

I was just thinking about Casey and Zeke and Josh and Elijah, and a thought occurred to me that I don't think I might have mentioned in the past.
I got to meet Elijah at two of the ORC conventions, little brief line encounters. The second time we talked for a minute about a present I brought him, and that's when this hit me. It wasn't a really forceful feeling; in fact, it didn't really freak me out until later. But, man.
How fucking weird was it that Elijah Wood is taller than me?
Does that sound stupid? I imagine it does. But dig this: I'd been enjoying his performances since he was a tiny wee thing, so up until and through LOTR, he had always been smaller in my imagination, because he'd always been either a kid or a hobbit. And that impression lingered despite seeing him in other parts.
So when he slid off that tall stool and spontaneously hugged me, there was a definite thread of disorientation at the fact that he was looking down at me - the overhead lights were cut off from his face just a bit because it was leaning towards me. That is a hella strange memory, it went so much against the sensory logic of how things ought to be at that moment in time. Like some little part of me realized, Oh fuck, you're a MAN.
It was subtle. It was bizarre. It was wonderful. It was a paradigm-shifting moment, albeit a small one. It was delicious beyond words.
And I would still give every last drop of blood from every person I've ever met to fuck that guy. Yeah, and I'm only half kidding. Don't lie, so would you.

Ricardo rolled his eyes, sat up and stretched his jaw muscles. Sonny wasn't exactly quick. "So what instead?"
Crockett got up. "Nah, out of time. Deal's going down in twenty and we gotta be there." He pulled on his pants and reached for his cigarettes...

I think the block may be loosening. Jesus, it's like pulling teeth. But I think the problem may have been that Zeke was pissed at me for misinterpreting a situation, and so insulted he wouldn't talk to me. This is what happens when I try to dictate to the characters I'm writing about - I forget the only way for me to get the story is to just shut up and listen. Well, Zekey boy has put me in my place, alright.
Oh, if he'd been at my high school I would have burned him down in a hot minute. Great Goddess, he's luscious. Have you ever had a taste of Mexican chocolate? The real Aztec kind, with almost no sugar but plenty of red pepper? That's my Zeke, that's the guy I'm writing about - dark and hot and biting with no sweet to leaven the burn. He's what he is and doesn't apologize or care what anyone thinks. He's not quite a predator yet, but he's learning fast, and finding he loves it. But he's sinking even as he thinks he's commanding the wave. I adore him.

His father is of half Irish (Dingle peninsula) and half German ancestry, and his mother is of Swedish and Norwegian descent.
My first reaction on reading that?
Holy shit, this guy is really, really WHITE.
I mean, I thought Cumberbatch was white, but Josh is a fucking cornucopia of eggshell. Damn.
Now, this is not a complaint, mind you. I've always had a terrible weakness for pretty gringos. I'll let the Black Girls from Hair explain the appeal:
